O Come, O Come, Emmanuel is a hymn for Advent that originates in the 8th or 9th century and is based upon the “O Antiphons,” which are sung at Vespers during the last 7 days of Advent. Mystery of Faith sings O Come, O Come, Emmanuel throughout Advent as a part of the family’s prayers during the lighting of the Advent wreath before dinner.
